Locals and visitors driving along Pacific Coast Highway will get a daily, 40-foot reminder that Laguna Beach is “charming.”

British street artist Ben Eine, with the help some local artists, painted the word on the side of an apartment building here on Saturday.

Eine, based in London, travels internationally for his street art. He recently painted a “Harmony” mural in Chicago.

Laguna was the first stop of a West Coast series of murals, from Los Angeles to San Francisco.

The location was picked, with permission from the owner, because it’s the largest wall the artists could find that is visible from the highway, said Justin Klein of Laguna Beach, a mural volunteer.

Eine believes the word perfectly describes Laguna Beach’s people and atmosphere, said mural organizer Adam Casper.
